This bright room was Auntie’s. She was a world traveler, a suffragette, and spoke several languages. She was highly educated and loved art and music. While volunteering as a nurse during WWI, she fell in love with a soldier. They were engaged to be married, but he went missing in action. Heartbroken by the loss, she remained dedicated to him for the rest of her life and never married. She moved in with her brother’s family and occupied this room. It was once the carriage house and home of the gardener and chauffeur. Rumor has it, the gardener had his own still during prohibition, and the chauffeur often held card games in the wee hours of the morning. Now, this cozy cottage has a big Jacuzzi tub for relaxing plus a kitchenette. Decorated in rich colors, with a hand painted mural, this charming country room creates a soothing ambience that is perfect for some R&R! Recently updated. View more photos at: Carriage House webpage
